Who needs hair with a face like this

So the hair is gone.

For a short while only though. The hair did a good job of staying on for a bit, but decided to give up last  weekend. Instead of having it fall off bit by bit by bit, we had a ´bye bye hair´-party at the office.  What better to start your Tuesday with having your head shaved and massaged by the most wonderful friend and colleague one can wish for? And all that with the best cheering squad in the back ground.

And you know what? I don´t even feel sad about it this time. I know, it was really important to me for a while, before December and January. I really really wanted to keep my hair and told my (very bald) oncologist so. He sort of understood, but was also realistic that it is not always an option. And with all that has happened lately, if having no hair for a couple of weeks is the worst that happens during chemo, I now feel I have nothing to complain about! And who knows how the hair will come back: reddish, or with curls, or both, or blond? Although the latter was kinda hard for Mik to picture.

This morning I had another round of booster chemo at the hospital with the next appointment scheduled for next Wednesday. With me being there so often now, I am getting to know more and more people plus I have the luxury that people know me. I don´t have to start with given them my name and Norwegian social security number. Nope! They remember all that and I get waved right in! Kinda makes me feel like a celebrity. There´s something positive to be found in pretty much everything I guess!

With my hair being gone, I am now rocking the coolest hats I can lay my hands on. My regular nurse Elin told me today that there is a bunch of super kind volunteers that knit hats for the hospital (and some even come with kind notes!) where bald people like me get to choose a hat from the huge pile of Norwegian home knitted hats! Isn´t that special?

Off to pick up Mik from Hafjell now, he´s been out and about with his personal snowboard trainer (and allround great gal) Anna.

Life is busy! Life goes on.

The new normal is ON!
