When side effects become main effects

It might be autumn break for the kids here, but for me it was back to the hospital this Monday. First on Monday and then again on Tuesday. My white blood cell count was not up to scratch on Monday so after a lot of eggs and broccoli I was good to go on Tuesday.

Funny how it works though. For me at least. This chemo schedule is:
- chemo on Monday week 1
- chemo on Monday week 2
- break week 3

During week 3 I usually start to feel soooo much better, that I kinda forget what the side effects of the treatment have been in week 1 and 2. Until I am back in the next week 1. Blimey! And it is not that it is the same side effects every single time so you know what to prepare for. No. This week my body feels like every single part of my body is weighed down by at least 100kg kettlebells so all I wanna do is crash on a bed or the floor or a warm bath or the sofa. And last night when I came back from the bathroom and could barely hold my head up, it sounded like someone opened a bottle of Seven Up in my head. The psssssshhhhhh from a fresh bottle of Seven Up. Got so thirsty but not for Seven Up though. Have been drinking liters and liters of red clementine juice. And just stretching makes that parts of my body cramp up where I thought no cramp would ever get to.

Right now the side effects feel like the main effects as I have no clue what this chemo does to the cancer in my body. So hence, the side effects feeling as the main effects.

One more chemo in this round and then the usual CTs and MRIs and off to Oslo it is to meet with Mr hunky Oncologist.

Fingers crossed that the main effects of this chemo turn out to be very positive. Then you won´t hear me complain again when we continue with this type of chemo.

Crawling back into my tent now. We built a tent in the living room. And are binging Netflix.

PS no news from the Anthoni van Leeuwenhoek just yet. Rest assured, as soon as there is news, I will let you know! (should I mail them or just be patient? feels like I am sort of on a clock here...)
